The Smoking Section had the chance to sit down with the former head of G-Unit, Sha Money XL, about two weeks ago in the SRC Records offices while Sha was out doing press for Loud.com (Peep “TSS Presents The Next Wave…”). He chopped it up with us for a bit about his hustle, stepping down from heading G-Unit, how 50 goes about writing his hooks and the potential impact Loud.com’s can make on the culture and it’s music.
Click on the player below to listen to the sitdown between TSS Crew’s John Public and Sha.

The tracks you hear in the background are from avid Smoking Section reader and super-producer DJay Cas. Based in Charleston, NC, hit him up for more info on his MySpace, www.myspace.com/trackaddictz. Many thanks for the tracks, family.
I havent read a TSS presents in a minute but will definately peep this tonight when I have a few. I recently listened to a mixtape he did called G Unit Classics. It was a mix of old school tracks with the tracks that sampled them. Good stuff! I think he should produce more cause he seems to have a great ear for beats.
i guess since its on audio i’ll be listenin to it tonight and not reading it. its all the same.
^ we’ve done at least 3-4 in the past few weeks.

^DAMN. where i been!? lol I probally didnt pay attention to the others cause I never heard of em. But that doesnt mean they arent worth hearing. I’ll check em out. Thanx.
as i looked at the pic of sha money, i can’t help but to wonder what the hell is so hot about these gino greene shirts? is it just me or does the ambiguous-ass looking “g’s” or “9′s” speak to some uninspiring clothing creativity? if i see another negro wearing them shits, i think i’m going to record a diss track about them (and no…i don’t rap).
my younger cousin (he just turned 21) came over a few weekends ago with one of them shirts on and begin to lecture to me about how the “all-over patterns” are ruining hiphop fashion etc. and then he begins to blame bape and ice cream for this trend along with younger-aged cats. the whole time i’m looking at him like “negro, did you look in the mirror this morning? cause you’re a fashion victim as well!” when i finally stopped laughing at him and asked him about his thoughts on his current attire, he told me that it was some g-shit that i couldn’t understand. my intuition tells me that the “g” he was referring to was “gangster” and not “geno greene”, but who knows. either way, the shirt sucks.
* steps off soap box *
thanks for letting me vent…
thats crazy, cause SHA has been on 50 side since violator days, he has a great future in owning his own record/distribution company.
And I use to grab his mixtapes, when he did em, I think he use to come out with Shadyville mixtapes alot.
ps.
Young you cant get upset at designers for trying to get money, get upset at the consumers for buying and sporting such crap.
Try to remember when you were younger, or a younger age, did you get caught up by the mainstream fashions??
Answer truthfully please cause I will put you on blast.
Two new Boogie Bang mixtapes–MIXtapes. Not compilations. I actually put in work. (Now, if mp3 leaks included instrumentals and a capellas I could really get busy…)

man fuck all that what u think about the beats? haha naw
thanks Gotty
Trackstar needs better promotion, so I’m gonna do it for him:
THE HOTTEST DJ out of the Midwest brings you the latest in the LEGENDARY BOOGIE BANG mixtape series. Peep the summer’s hottest hip hop hits from your favorites as well as some of STL’s best slept on underground MCs. You know the best shit out there is that which you havent heard so cop it. Now.
Damn I demand royalties.
Great interview as well crewmates.
Blaze, I see ur point. I got caught up in mainstream….and to some point, I probably still do (nike, anyone)…but I did it/do it because I make the choice based on my own merits, not based on how many hiphop cats are choosing it to be the style icon of the moment.
But you’re right, I should hold my disdain back for the designer and pass that on to the mindless consumers rocking that stuff.
@young/sincere rich,
I feel u 100%. Most if not all the ppl we see who are in the industry wearin them get them shits in boxes for free. Its the losers in the streets rockin them that blow my mind cause they actually bought them shits!
Someone give Saigon and Papoose some shopping money cause both of them stay in gino green tees.
Personally I think its far from “g shit” but to each their own. Because the logo is so often mistaken for 9′s wouldnt it really make the whole design wannabe g shit? Or would Gino defend the logo by sayin real g’s stay with the 9…LMAO!
As long as my man stays gino free I’m happy. That tee bothers me as much as seeing someone good looking under 30 wearing Fubu…Like WTF is wrong with u?! lol
@Djay Cas,
The first 2 beats were crazy, especially the first one. I was diggin the first one the most. 3rd & 4th were decent but those first 2 were head & shoulders better IMO.
thanks fuzzy
preciate everyone takin the time to listen too.
“That tee bothers me as much as seeing someone good looking under 30 wearing Fubu…”
WTF?
Some people are so far gone with their thought process…
Djay Cas – No bs, I listened to the invu a few times b/c the beats sort’ve made it attractive. Definitely a good look.
then you should prolly get me on the next one
Gotty
;)
the 1st two beats sounded like some well flipped versions of some old P.R.T…
“”That tee bothers me as much as seeing someone good looking under 30 wearing Fubu…”
WTF?
Some people are so far gone with their thought process…

^u mad. u must be rockin fubu. its alright, do you ;)
@Anonymous — June 26, 2007 @ 8:19 pm
You must be the same ignorant one who commented that Foxy shouldn’t have been in a part of the world (that she chose to be at) at 5AM.
I guess that’s why Stack Bundles was murdered. The world would be much better off without your type of rationale. Senseless acts of violence should never be vouched for.
*SMH*
(P.S. Never rocked FUBU in my life, but you’re either young… or old and have a ridiculous way of thinking. If a “good looking” man under 30 chooses to wear FUBU, so what?)
i think everyone (well the dudes) should stop worrying about good looking men
good night
@Djay Cas
And that was EXACTLY my point.
Goodnight.
I like the way dude says “on the bubble”
i’m pretty sure the anon making the fubu comment was a female considering the “if my man..”
then again, i could be wrong.
@P,
yep i’m a female. sorry if my comment “under 30 and good lookin” came off as ignorant.
maybe i should have said something like if your young and have style chances are your not going to be wearing fubu so IMO u shouldnt get caught in gino green either….thats all.
and to the guy who thought i said shit like foxy shouldn’t have been in the projects. i did not say that BUT i would say IF she was tryin to score some drugs in the projects at 4am then maybe she set herself up for some negative shit to take place. anyone should be able to be anywhere at anytime but thats not the real world. most of us know where not to be alone at in the middle of night or early morning hours. its just being cautious and realistic! we live in a world where ppl will rob, shoot, or beat your ass sometimes for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time so why purposely put yourself in harms way? again just my opinion. sorry if u disagree
