^ Thanks for the headsup my dude.
‘K’?
where she at?
Last I checked the Dj’s were on the ones and twos behind turntables, since when has it been allowed for any mothafucka to just put together a list of songs and distribute them and then call themselves a dj. I bet these self proclaimed dj’s around now couldn’t scratch a lick but there ass when they watch Dj Q-bert, Craze, Executioners, Infamous, gunkhole, and others of that calibur. What the fuck is wrong with these people. allowing clowns like khaled to hop up and get recognition for What? this man can’t make beats. He isn’t the best at shit but being unaware of what he is clearly not. A DJ. Stop allowing this people.
this aint the whole cd its supposed to have a song wit Bone thugs
I heard Lil’ Wayne appears 4X….. :-/
I hear ya Jay….
I was thinking about the kids that are currently in high school and the types of memories that gets associated with that time in person’s life. Now I wasn’t in high school when Biz Markie or Rakim ruled or going to see “Lean On Me” was considered a hot date, but I can tell you their musical era is faaaaar from memorable. I mean when you saw the collective that was supposedly “Takin’ Over” it kinda looked like they was all cut from the same cloth (this new southpaw…whatever! Fat Joe included). Couldn’t quite put your finger on what to call them but you knew they belonged together. Why? Cuz you know that their candle would burn out faster than any other era before them. Sure, no hip-hop movement reigns forever, the Native Tongues, Wu-Tang, Jigga’s Dynasty, Ruff Ryders, and G-Unit are all testaments to that. But look what type of musical impact those guys left us. (What did YOU last listen to on your iPod???) And the thought of kids nowadays sparking up conversations of remember T-Pain’s “Buy U A Drink” at the prom ten years is pretty sad.
Let the truth be told, most people don’t even care about music no more. If that was the case, “Ear Drum” would be platinum offa pre-order….
U ain’t gotta take ya panties off, just move em’ to the side….
:-/
Bone Thugs track is FIRE
I like this album, there’s no weak track on it, just hits :)
Other thing is that I’ve already heard most of the tracks…
Tracklist could have been a lil bit longer, but I think it’s gonna be extended by We Takin Ova RMX and Make It Rain RMX.
props, im out.
niceeeeeeeeeeee
@ Jay From Va:
Bro, Khaled can rock a party like nobody’s business. Trust me, I live in Miami, I been to his spots. I’m a DJ myself and growing up in NY, I been to mad parties and clubs where some legendary DJs have spun, so I know a little something about the 1′s and 2′s.
Cats like Khaled, Funk Master Flex, DJ Clue, Drama and them get mad hate from ‘purists,’ but them dudes didn’t get to where they at by not knowing the craft.
I know plenty of “tuntablists” who spend all they spare time in the crib practicing 40-click flares, orbits and whatnot, the only records they own are battle and breakbeat vinyl and you take them out of they little cave and they don’t know the first thing about rocking a party.
The most important thing I learned from Tony Touch and Rob Swift is that the best DJs are all-around DJs. The ones that are nice with the skratching and turntablism, they can rock the ‘jiggy’ crown one night, turn around and throw down an ill underground set the next night. It’s all about balance.
Yea I get what you’re saying. I love Rob swift and all of them. But I think there should be an alternative name instead of DJ for people like khaled. like a audio arranger or something. it would fall into the category of the catering business for parties and what not. Plus I don’t cut any slack for artists like him who claim they are ‘the best’ but have no skills to solidify their previous claims. I have no respect for this guy at all.
What I’m trying to say is that Khaled IS a DJ, he gets behind the decks, he can spin, mix, scratch, beat match and all that, he’s not a Whoo-Kid type button pusher, he’s the real deal. Trust when I say: Dude knows his shit. And I’m not even a huge fan of his, but I give due props.
The link does not work anymore, how´s the chance to get a new one?
props 2 you gotti, keep up the good work!
yeah Jay. .. calm down . . . you sound like one of those “underground” suburban purists who switched over from punk rock right around the rawkus 90′s . .. . and no , dont give me your hip-hop resume .. . honestly, i went to a show in NYC in 1996 and the scratch piklz were there and the x-men and they were all going back and forth with all that technical scratch shit. . . and the crowd was just staring into space . .. on the other hand, ive been to clubs where biz markie gets all epileptic up in the booth, playing records and scratching sloppy, talkin a little shit… but guess what . . . the people are smiling, buggin out, and forgettin their daily troubles.. . . thats a DJ. . .. but for the record, i do have a problem with Khaled frontin like hes a brotha from the gutta… .
i just ate 10 dollars of arbys and im still real hungry.
I’ll stop my bashing of the guy until i see for myself what he is capable of doing. but you can’t put doctors in front of the average person and expect them to understand any of their lingo that goes along with the trade. that’s like when little brother has to perform in front of crowds of those who don’t know who they are. they get a dull reaction from the crowd and no love. then some Bet top 10 carbon copy type clowns come on stage and get the place hype. You have to put them in the right settings. I know that the X-men and gunkhole aren’t meant for live parties and club scenes. but when they are in their proper settings, surrounded by other’s who have knowledge of what they’re doing. Then they can rock a show like you claim Khaled can. I’m not doubting his skill as a ‘dj’. just i do not like their movement claiming they are the best when they aren’t. Fat Joe =trash, Akon=trash and dumb, Rick Ross=the average rapper from the south, who talks of the same topics over and over. the only decent character in their movement is Lil’ Wayne and I have a hard time Saying that.
And No i didn’t switch over to anything and I’m not saying that I have some extensive track record or giving you a list of my achievements but nor do i claim I have the best records and talent.
