Coming home from a weekend away is always interesting. You don’t realize how much shit happens in three days when you’re usually checking the old reliables multiple times daily. Here are a few of the things I missed while I was away. Maybe you caught ‘em, maybe you didn’t.
So, Crooked I’s weekly hard work might’ve finally paid off. In one of Just Blaze’s new blog entries, he says that he’s been sleeping hard on my man Crook. I love the fact that he can admit that, and the fact that this’ll probably do wonders for the career of one of my Top 5 emcees. Long Beach stand up!
Powerhouse in LA (Video Clip)
I heard the shit was off the chains, the hook, and the ringer. King and Weezy F. Baby apparently tore it up, respectively. Someone said Bone didn’t. Game headlined, brought out everybody, and shut shit down. If the show was half as entertaining as Game’s promo for it, then it was probably something special. With a lineup like that though, how could it not be?
According to numerous sources, Foxy Brown got sonned by a bunch of her ex-boyfriend’s hoes, immediately after breaking up with him because she found out he was pimpin’. Apparently Foxy wasn’t bringing in her cut.
Well, Bone is officially in the movie biz. They always said they’d never go Hollywood, but here is the preview for their new flick, I Tried. Hopefully it’ll be legit, or at least as enjoyable as one of those old No Limit movies. Wonder if Bizzy’s the fiended-out bad guy?
Warren G’s Slangin’ on MySpace
One of my personal favorites, the G-Child, is selling unreleased songs on his MySpace page for a buck. I’ve personally never heard of that, but I think it’s a good look. Most of the time these type of songs either never get heard, or get released in bad quality, so this is a nice alternative for the fans. I included a sample, down there. * RIP Chris Benoit. The Canadian Crippler, along with his wife and son, were found dead in their home in GA on Monday. The details are sketchy, to say the least. Either way, it’s sad to see these wrestlers I grew up with keep dying in such disconcerting ways.
* Scorsese and De Niro are finally reuniting. The long-overdue flick is called Frankie Machine, and will about a retired gangster getting back on his grind. Sounds like a hit (Pun intended).
* Indiana Jones 4 is currently filming. Han Solo and Cate Blanchett star. Spielberg and Lucas are behind the scenes. May 2008. Where do I sign up?
* And finally, a New Zealand couple tried to name their son 4Real, and got denied. They should’ve gotten their custody denied.
