An essential sign of whether or not an upcoming MC is worthy, is the quality and frequency of their guest appearances leading up to the release of their album. Snoop got busy all over The Chronic before his debut album solidified him as the smoothest rapper in the world, Biggie lit up Craig Mack’s “Flavor In Ya Ear” remix to get a buzz started for Ready to Die, and a pre-Illmatic Nas blew onto the scene with his gritty appearance on Main Source’s “Live at the Barbeque.”
One of the most enjoyable parts of following T.I.’s rise to the top these past few years has been hearing his flashy guest appearances on pretty much any CD that came out. When listening to his guest verses both old and recent, it’s clear that when the man is on a track with others, he makes the effort so that it’s his verse that the listener will remember most. So in honor of our T.I. vs. T.I.P. vs. TSS week, I am proud to present T.I.’s Top Ten Guest Appearances (listed in descending order):
10. Destiny’s Child ft./ T.I.- “Soldier” – With boasts that sound like they’re coming straight out of a Mrs. Butterworth bottle, Tip helps bring some much-needed Southern flavor to a track that otherwise feels like a more-than-forced reunion between Beyonce, Kelly and “the other one.”
Best Part: “a reformed D-Boy used to runnin the trap/ still a soldier go to war if you’re running your trap.”
9. Slim Thug ft./ T.I., Bun B- “3 Kings”- T.I. sounding as confident as ever, joins two of his Southern brethren in this downright nasty Southern stomp.
Best Part: the beat pausing so Tip can smoothly let everyone know what you need to have to be part of the royal court, “22′s on a brand new coupe with no roof/ 150 dolla tennis shoes, no suits…”
8. DJ Drama ft./ Young Jeezy, Willie the Kid, Jim Jones, Rick Ross, T.I. – “Feds Takin Pictures”- His highness shows up to help an old friend out and with only half a minute left on the track, crafts up a flow that bounces and meshes flawlessly with the hectic beat.
Best Part: “young rich and famous with a pistol, you can call me Chi Ali/ but I’m the greatest in Atlanta they be callin me Ali.“
7. Cee-Lo Green ft./ T.I.- “The One”- Back in the days when he was known only for “Rubber Band Man” T.I. still had the swagger of a seasoned vet. His confidence in full effect, he helps out the Soul Machine of the South with one of his smoothest verses of his pre-King career.
Best Part: “Include shoes? 10,000 dolla outfit bitch.”
6. Young Buck ft./ T.I., Young Jeezy, Pimp C- “4 Kings”- Apparently, since one of the Underground Kings wasn’t recognized on the Slim Thug track, Buck found it necessary to make another Southern banger with the exact same concept. If there was any fear of redundancy however, the real king of the South squashes it with a varied, faster and brand new flow.
Best Part: “Went from standing on the block with rock/ to standing on the top”
5. DJ Khaled ft./ Akon, T.I., Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Baby, Lil Wayne- “We Takin Over”- Over electrified, stormy synths, a spooky choir, and a howling Akon, T.I. plays cartographer, shouting out all the geographic locations he took over, starting with the A-Town.
Best Part: “from down in Miami where it warm in the winter/ all up to Minnesota where it storm in the winter” (I’m a little biased being that I’m originally from Minnesota, but come on, how many times do rappers give us Minnesotans a shout out?)
4. Justin Timberlake ft./ T.I.- “My Love”- Timberlands backwards strings and beatboxed percussion + JT’s ridiculous over-the-top crooning + a mellowed out T.I. playing the smooth-as-velour playa character better than anyone else could= classic.
Best Part: “You ain’t really wanna let the chance go by/ cuz you ain’t been seen with a man so fly” as the beat recedes and then rushes back in.
3. Fat Joe ft./ R. Kelley, Lil Wayne, Baby, T.I., Rick Ross- “Make It Rain (Remix)”- Over perhaps the beat of the year, T.I. perfects a jaw-dropping double time flow.
Best Part: Hearing T.I. go double time on a commercial track.
2. R. Kelley ft./ T.I., T-Pain- “I’m a Flirt”- Bouncy pianos and two spirited collaborators form the perfect backdrop for the king to advise all the listeners against bringing their wives/fiancées/girlfriends to the club.
Best Part: T.I. saying all too convincingly, “cuz you leave your wife, and I see your wife/ lets be for real, how long you thinkin’ she fiend to be your wife?”
1. Lil Kim ft./ T.I., Sha-Dash- “Get Yours”- This is what a guest verse is supposed to sound like. T.I. brings his best braggadocio and without a doubt steals the show with a fantastic flow, distinctive drawl and memorable boasts. This is what makes him the king of the South.
Best Part: From where T.I. starts talking to where T.I. stops talking. Classic Guest spot.

Ti is the truth
He did go bananas on “Get Yours”. Rewind allllll day!
What was that track w/Killer Mike…”Akshun” Remix? Am I the only one remembering him going ape on that shit?
ah this is what I’m talking bout. This is why TSS is major. Doin the leg work to snag all of these songs from there various locations
^ that’s about half the singles homie. got a gang of’em to come.
Ummm. .. not to encourage dry snitchin . . . . but what kind of hardbody moves did that nigga make before the rap game ? ? . . . he aint never been in no pen .. . no fed time or nothin. . . . so he couldnt been major .. .. juss some regular hand2hand aggin right ?!!!!
why not dump the singles into one folder and sew it up with one link instead of 29 different rapidshare links? for the user-end standpoint this is rediculious. i guess from the traffic-based revenue model that stuff y’alls pockets, this way is the way to do it.
^ Anon, quit your crying and get to d/l homie. Beggers can’t be choosers, yadig.
^ LOL
Anon, that’s the most organized way for those who handle the uploading. Sorry.
Plus, there are those who simply don’t want all the tracks. Only a few.
It’s not that serious. Grab a few now, wait, grab some more. RS should hold them & have them available for a while.
My dude has been on more shit over the last few years…. its not a game.
I think after he served his time, he just made a promise just to rip every possible track he could get on!
so what if they’re all rapidshared? why do you want a bunch of shitty t.i. tracks anyway?
how come nearly everybody who has some bullshit thing to say to insult someone always posts under ‘anonymous’????
At least state your name if you’re going to be a snotty little bitch about FREE MUSIC!
^^LMFAO.
His Never Scared verse was bananas
thanks for the tracks
Thanks for the tracks. You don’t have that “Get Yours” track though?
john G, that is what i was coming to say. that track sold him to me. i lost it the first time i heard it, mike and bonekrusher coming so hard, then tip just smoothed it the fuck out, but still was harder than both. one of my favorite tracks to make me drive fast EVER!!!
he’s definitely crazy on that make it rain remix, but i wanna know who followed him on that one? he was dope too (“that’s why i keep a clip to protect it fo me…”).
Go buy “The Naked Truth”… :-D
“No No No” Remix w/ T.I.?
Learn/Hear something new everyday I guess…
“Noooooo, I ain’t bad, just don’t kiss no ass or take shit
And I’m a grown man, find you somebody to play wit…”
No “Neva Scared” verse?
No “Stomp” verse?
Best Part: “Went from standing on the block with rock/ to standing on the top”
——————–
The best line w/ block n’ rock in it still belongs to Mac Dre…
Before MP3 n’ DVDs’ / I was on the block wit more rock than MTV / Craaaackin’, all night like Denny’s / Gone off Remy, blowin them grimey’s / But in the new milleny, booooy I pop thizz / Crackin’ is mackin’ [?] on a bitch / Gaaaangsta, but see i’ma mack though / Catch me in the van with the D on the backdoe / Crackin’ fifths open, hemp smokin / From Vallejo to Richmond, Frisco to Oakland / It’s mackin’ baby, crackin’ baby / I’ma out the roof of the Range Rov actin’ crazy!!
EEEEYYYYYYY!!!!! Haha, I know this shit bout T.I. but it just made me think bout that. Good shit though, the T.I. one coo as fuck, plus Pimp C> ythat’s what it is.
Haha I enjoyed that Bonecrusher remix too, it was tough to choose just 10. I almost put up some “Honorable Mentions” but my wordcount was getting pretty major. Hope yall enjoyed regardless. Peace
anytime a “best” line is “Best Part: “Went from standing on the block with rock/ to standing on the top”"
cmon… + “At war with god” – Ludacris showed who’s the real f’ing king of the south if you wanna do it from a real hiphop , rapper album.
Seriously At war with god is Ether, and that’s why TI still has a complex and gets touchy anytime luda’s name is brought up.
“real niggas ain’t doing no talkin cuz we walk that walk.” game recognize game.
while I bump ti I think he’s self made, ego and confidence he has. But when people look back and have a diff angle they gonna see he hella hollow.
“How many times u gone rap about bustin your gun, how many times you gonna trap without bustin just one, Only shots you ever took were subliminal to the general, disrespecting those doin REAL time with REAL criminals.”
games over but whatever…
Now young buck… I dunno what to make of man, other than I look at him and see a dude thats seen or done work on the real. He comes off as sincere compared to some these others.
Also… of course no “stomp verse”
lol he got stomped the fuck out… he got exposed for getting jerked in his first deal, and he got schooled by same dude I just done mention.
I like to see one person with a straight face try to debate who got stomped on that track.
Honestly, I preferred the verse on “Cannon”
“Bet you ain’t comin’ back to life like Soul2Soul, ayyyyyyyy.”
seriously…how did the F did the top ten include destiny’s child’s soldier and NOT include T.I. insanely smooth verse in Grand Finale? Here is the WHOLE thing in case the writer forgot…ridiculous!
I refuse to lose, I rather give these weak dudes the blues
And separate them from they jewels, teach ‘em don’ts and do’s
I raise tools, make crews make decisions confused
All spectators can say is, “This lil’ nigga’s a fool”
A short fuse with some loose screws, some unscrewed
Better prove, you niggaz pussy as the Moulan Rouge
So who guardin’ who, you know who to you know what
To you know where, goin’ ‘gainst ‘em’s too unfair
‘Cause everywhere you do a show he got kinfolk there
Now you know I ain’t no ?, I got ten folk there
They ain’t powerful as the one at the end of your prayer
Got you runnin’ for your life without a minute to spare
Catch you dead to the granite, melt the grease in your hair
When I go, them boys is gonna be indecent affair
Guarantee you nah a real nigga breathin’ accounted
At your funeral, just your parents and the preacher was there
Hollow, television name-dropper reachin’ for help
So I ain’t gotta say a word, pimp you beatin’ ya’self
You gon’ get what you deserve for disrespectin’ the game
Any nigga with the nerve to say another man name
When that other man ain’t even present
And deny it when somebody ask him about it
That nigga’s a lame, you like to lie on the mic
Hide behind fame, I was a G when I came
That’s the way I remain
^COLD VERSE,WHO YOU THINK HE WAS TALKN BOUT??
Use RapGet to queue rapidshare downloads. Truth
I love the king but he dethroned himself with some of these cuts he put on the album
“r.i.p to robert davis, he the king of the south. anything else said, need to shut your damn mouth”
^Nice. I wish Mike Jones wasnt on that track
Sorry thinking of wrong track.
There should be a way to edit comments.
good article… you def merc these artist week tings
thanks for the tip jesus.
and thanks for the t.i.p. tss
I like T.I., but there are PLENTY of other cats (especially in the south) that go way harder than him. I’ve heard T.I. come with a wack verse before…i’ve NEVER not seen Bun get on any track and straight murder it, but T.I. is the King? Personally, T.I’s later cd’s haven’t really been much about anything…he was way hungrier at the early stages of his career!
Also, big ups to the comment about Luda…he killed it on War With God and is the BEST rapper in ATL by far!
Forgot to mention, never the less…thanks for the articles and the tracks. Keep it coming TSS!
“Crown me” wit cam and juelz
pimpin, i aint seein none of you
Could we get one file with all the singles? Please
