I figured it was just a slow first quarter but shit would start crackin soon enough.
“R. Kelly leaked!”
Sorry for the juvenile humor…couldn’t help it lol.
R. could deficate on the Olsen twins but folks won’t care as long as he drops a hot album every summer.

How old is Kells?
man, i hate him.
I fuck wit Kells
nice.
I feel you, P. Kels disgusts me, and the fact that people still ride for him disgusts me even more.
He might, however, be our generation’s Marvin Gaye.
Kells is HOT! Always will be! He’s a legend! And track #5, Real Talk is, well……the title speaks for itself!
Marvin Gaye…That’s some big shoes to fill. I don’t see R. releasing anything on the level of “What’s Goin On,” anytime soon.
That being said, he has had some classics, “Down Low,” is one of my favorite R&B songs.
Kells is good…but Marvin? Socially conscious lyrics from Kells? Noncipher.
Still a genius, flaws and all.
Kelly has that “I’m bout to pee on a bitch” look on his face
Actually, I should clarify before some people bug out. I got no problem with folks liking Kels’ music…I like some of it, myself, but the way he’s looked up to in the Black community in spite of what he’s on trial for is a little messed up. So many folks we should be honoring, and we put Kels on a pedestal? Not a good look…priorities are all out of whack.
As for Marvin, I do think there are some similarities, but the music is just a small part of that. I was speaking on a larger level…in particular, the struggle that both men have within themselves between their religion and their sexuality. Marvin was a freak in his own right, and a victim of many of the same ills (chemicals, stardom->ego) that Kels finds himself dealing with. At the same time, both are hailed as geniuses.
# 5 was okay, even though chamillionaire already did it before, plus i think cham did it better.
Man Russell and them need to start singling out dude for his lyrics if they going to focus on rappers all the time….Dude has some of the most ignorant, sambo type shit I’ve heard in a minute on this cd
smh
completely un-related, but that miss JADE mix tape kind of opened my eyes a little bit.
and r.kellys problem was getting caught. if every celebrity fuck up was caught on TAPE, we wouldnt have that many folks to look up to….
I’m going to say this and be as truthful as I can.. I can honestly say I have come to like R Kelly more as I have become older.
Let me explain, Back in the when he 1st got hot — aka before he got got the 1st time — I was like .. this music isn’t nothing but the confessions of a not-so-hidden freak. but what he really has down is tune his internal struggle into his music. Thats why its felt so much it isn’t just his lyrics its the music with the lyrics
His claims which by the way seem to be made in one context will kinda out there are rather on point. Maybe not to the levels he claims but I dare say he is the most critiqued musician in terms of what he does but no one questions his ability to speak to the masses. I think thats what he really was trying to say and yes it showed a lot of ego, but he may have been very much on point.
I mean take out the names he used and put in a comparision.. can you find better analogies?
A fan since he was R. Kelly AND Public Announcement (AKA, the “Honey Love” beginnings).
I purchased every single one of his albums UP UNTIL the news broke about him and well… you know. I couldn’t listen to an R. Kelly song for close to two years after that or I’d get sick to my stomach (so his CDs just sat in my rack for all of that time). But you can’t deny the man’s talent. He was one of the biggest R&B acts when I was in high school. There were plenty of others that dropped at the time (a WHOLE lot – most of whom I have their singles), but where are they now? Truth is, when I heard an R. Kelly track, I felt it. Two of my favorite albums from him are the self-titled “R. Kelly” and double album, “R.” (12 Play is up there but is sort of lackluster as a complete album, even though “Your Body’s Callin’,” “Bump N’ Grind,” and “It Seems Like You’re Ready” – the last being my favorite song from the album – are all classic cuts).
I haven’t copped a disc of his since TP-2.Com (because of his legal troubles, he seemed to rush out a bunch of material – like he wasn’t sure if he’d be gone away for a long time), and I’m not really feeling his work over the past 4-5 years… but the man was a staple of my teenage years and I wouldn’t have ever purchased his albums had it not been for his talent.
He wrote some great songs.
Just downloaded the album.
I guess my like of Kells ended with TP-2.Com – it went into the Recycle Bin after one full listen.
HOLD UP, HOLD UP, HOLD UP! When I see pee, I move. When she saw pee, she stayed. Kells is still a sick aggin though.
and r.kellys problem was getting caught. if every celebrity fuck up was caught on TAPE, we wouldnt have that many folks to look up to….

the way things are going, most celebrity fcuks are getting caught on tape
isn’t one of the songs on this album about kells bangin’ a chick in the pooper?
^ LOL, word?
“Dookie love”
Double UP + R Kelly = 12 yr old DP video tape
Sorry couldnt help that one
Yuck
And if R. Kelly goes to jail, I’ll piss on your cat.
Truthfully, the album is… how can I put this… “sour”. Its good, but you cringe at the lyrics with every thought of him ‘doing what he did’. I remember Jimmie said rappers are judged on who they’ve slept with; that was effective with Kells, and makes some not want to bump his sh*t.
R. Kelly has made a living out of making songs deriving from ghetto conversations.
For a Kells album I was surprised I only dig a few cuts.
“Rock Star *w/Luda” *(Nuff said)
“Havin a Baby” ( I like Eric Roberson’s version better though)
“Sex Planet” (Sounds like a vintage Kells slow cut)
Kinda like Mike…
The music speaks for itself.
just bump the music and what goes on in his or any other artists private life is just that..if we knew what went down with 1/2 the artists our folks listened to would we be listening, sampling and having discussions about it…we dont…
somebody forgot to inform him that album title has been used
Ok, I will admit to having a teenage daughter and I still listen to Kells. But after this joint? Hells no. This was straight and utter GARBAGE!!! The beats was cool, but lyrically Kells needs to up his game. You a grown ass 40 year old man. You still drinkin till you throw up? Damn, aggin! You don’t know your limit yet?? And the cut about the animal sounds (think it had something to do with a zoo?) I’m still blown away with that one. I’ll just say its a hot summer chock full o jokes on R. Kelly’s behalf. Thanks for the jokes, Rob.
Hate to say it!The “King of R&B’s” latest dancefloor album like his previous effort can only stand afew listens before bordem sets in! Lyrically and emotively it’s just bullshit! Compared to everything from R.Kelly to TP2 which are still classic summer albums, i always enjoy listening!
Personally i’d like to see kells doing an updated “do wop/motown” type album next. To change things up in the same vein as the Happy people/U saved me joint!
Also Brian McKnight’s last two albums make him a serious contender for the throne!! The King is dead long live the King!
Johnny Gill was the last lovemaker…
I like Kell’s because of his tomfoolery factor. I can’t think another R&Ber out there like his. And technically, I can’t deny his song writing ability. He’s got talent. In the end though, I wonder if his personal shenanigans will overshadow his talent?
Also, I think my memory serves me right, but when I read Miles Davis’ autobiography he told about what an asshole Charlie Parker was. There was one story about how he was in the back of a cab with Parker once, while Parker was doin’ some girl and eating some chicken. Granted, that’s not pooping or peeing on a girl, but Parker did have a messy rep in the Bebop/Jazz scene. However, he is still hailed as a musical genius. and he is. and we can fight about it if you want. Just sayin.
“Real Talk” is the cut.
Wow people this is what is real yo
I read that same Miles book. He said alot of those musical geniuses were beast and it’s true.
Miles, Marvin, Jimi…name just about any genius and you’ll find huge character flaws. It is what it is. It’s almost how those who lose one of their five senses get stronger in another. These cats were all strong musically, but had other shit going on around and within them that was just as much in the opposite direction.
