If Crooked I had an album out, he’d be in your Top 5.

He’s that nice.

While most of you disregarded that statement as soon as you read it, it’s probably closer to the truth than you think. Ask any Crook fan, or anyone that’s seen him spit on the Wake-Up Show, and more than likely they’ll tell you he’s the best MC without an album on the shelves.

He’s been on longer than most of the industry, but somehow keeps keeping fucked over by some label. He’s got what seems like a hundred songs under that Gucci belt of his, but only a few of them are on commercial albums. He’s apparently recorded over three albums worth of material (wit two albums on Tha Row), but not one of them will ever be released.

So I ask this…how the hell does this happen? How does a man with so much talent get pushed back more than people’s clocks on the first Sunday of November?

I don’t either. And I don’t think anyone ever will.

Especially those displeased fans over at the Dynasty Forums, who patiently wait for their favorite rapper to do something that seems so…common. For an established rapper with a deal, that is.

I know Crook feels what I’m sayin,’ too. He wants it worse than us.

Ever since he signed his deal with the devil…I mean Suge…to get off Tha Row, he’s seen nothing go his way. Every year he’s been claimin’….”05 is mine!” “06 is mine!” and so on. And every time he says something like that, we fans believe him, and then something goes wrong.

His material becomes outdated, another artist gets the chance that should’ve been his, the hard-drive crashes with his whole new album on it, or some other type of bullshit happens to make him start from scratch.

Remember when Jeezy broke into the scene, with “And Then What,” right around the same time Crook was about to drop his first big single, “Boom Boom Clap”? I wonder if Jeezy would be the Trapstar he is today if “Boom Boom Clap” would’ve dropped a month sooner.

This guy just can’t seem to catch a break, literally.

As a loyal fan of Crooked I’s music, I hope this downward chain of events doesn’t keep up for him. It would be damn shame to hear Crooked shout, “I know yall been waitin, but ’08 is ours!”, on his next mixtape.

According to a recent interview, his album B.O.S.S. is slated to come out this summer. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

In the meanwhile, check out his Hip-Hop Weekly Drops over @ dubcnn.com, and this fresh lil’ compilation DJ AGE put together of some of Crooked’s newer stuff.
