The other day, I asked for help locating this song after hearing it play @ the end of Sopranos. In the comments, someone pointed me in the right direction thankfully & I found the info I needed.
It turns out the song is by Los Lobos (“La Bamba” anyone?) and it’s actual title is “The Valley” from the album, The Town And The Valley . After doing a little digging, I garnered that the song is about farm workers, which seems plausible. Beyond that though, the bluesy lyrics in the song could easily translate to apply to anyone who toils hard to earn a buck each day. Solid drums and guitar licks set the foundation of the song, but the vocals & extra sounds set the true mood of the song – downbeat but still able perservere & stand strong.Â
