As I set out to do this “weekly roundup” (using that loosely) I was almost overwhelmed with some of the material because it’s so real. No better way to go @ it but to dive right in so here we go…

Principal caught buying crack on his office?

When the fuck did Tyrone Biggums become a school administrator?

Speaking of crack, I found myself browsing the February issue of GQ and ran across an interview with George Clinton. Now I knew the brother was high and always on some other shit, but SON SMOKED CRACK IN FRONT OF THE REPORTER and said it was healthy.

SMH.

I couldn’t find the full article online but I swear I wish I could’ve because I was buggin. George, some shit you need to keep in-house & I believe that since crack smoking isn’t socially acceptable, you might want to keep that shit put away until company leaves.

Bill Cosby is @ it again, this time attacking the legacy of Tupac during a lecture.

- I’m cool with Bill using his fame to make a stand.

- I understand he misses Ennis and is turning some of that energy towards saving other youths.

- True enough, he has some validity in some of the statements he’s made in the past.

But, brother, chances of reaching the audience you’re aiming for would’ve been better if you’d spoke badly of Jesus H. Christ instead of Tupac Shakur. Instead, chances are you’re alienating them.

And to try to take Pac to task for selling drugs?

Pardon me if I’m wrong, but Pac’s music wasn’t heavily laced with references to drug-selling. Now, riding on enemies, M.O.B.’n, and violence? Yeah. But aren’t there plenty of other artists, who have just as big a sphere of influence, that could have been taken to task for this.

And to take aim @ the legacy of a dead brother who can’t defend himself?

Aiyo…Bill, you’ve done a fair share. Be cool for a minute. Relax your mind and groom your dog. Let the dust settle. Then, once you’re focused & have found a better way, then come back and address the people.

Earlier in the week, we touched on All-Star Game weekend in Las Vegas and the aftermath. Well, it’s not completely over.

I live in the city so this story about the Titans’ Adam “Pac-Man” Jones has gone from a blip on the news screen to full-blown, first ten minutes of every newscast.

Here’s a brief synopsis, allegedly…

Pac-Man & his weed carriers took $80K in cash in a private party @ a strip club, where Nelly & JD were also in attendance. Pac proceeds to make it rain…but gets mad when the strippers try to keep the dough, grabs one by the head…hell breaks loose…Pac and the carriers threaten the bouncers. One of the carriers makes good on his promise and shoots three.

Pac is in trouble…again. He’s been in trouble since before he was even drafted. And as his play has gotten better on the field over the past two years, his trouble off the field has grown, along with the number of news media watching.

When he was drafted, knowing his past, a reporter asked Pac which would he choose – an NFL contract or his friends.

Pac said he’d choose his friends, aka his weed carriers.

I’ve generally tried to defend Pac man thru all his brushes with the law but I’m finding it hard to @ this point.

To become a man, @ a certain point, you have to stop leaning on your friends to help define you and instead determine your own future. Every man, every individual has faced it @ some point and time in their lives and money will not prevent Pac-Man from having to make this choice as well.

Pac, I pray you get out of this one & I hope it’s a life lesson for you & the shorties watching…and take this message.

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.

1 Corinthians 13:11

Let the knuckleheads go.

I’m just as hood as if I never left behind some of my dudes in the hood…because the important things the hood taught me, I carried with me.

On a brighter note, we hear so much negativite publicity concerning brothers and rappers that when we get a chance to spotlight something good, we’re more than happy to do so.

Philly rapper Kamaflaj put out fire, saves neighbors’ lives.

Respect due.
