Banning Ipods? Wouldn’t they be better served banning…uh, criminals…from the NYC streets?
Or perhaps policing the NYPD?
And sure, Prince’s performance may have been a little insuiating…if you were looking @ it that way. Calling him a “lustful, pansexual rock ‘n’ roll deviant” is, true, but it’s application here is too much. Now if he would’ve be doing “Darling Nikki” with Apollonia & Vanity up there it’d be a whole different ballgame.
I’m sure of a few things though…
1.) Most people, or at least everyone I was with, was either a.) caught up in the music or b.) taking a bathroom break.
2.) I was 16 when I learned what a phallic symbol was while reading the Isis Papers. If somebody younger than 16 knew what Prince was coyly doing…well, looks as if the youth are smarter than we give them credit.
3.) No matter what, nobody’s topped Janet’s exposed areola so what’s the fuss?

Keynote – Nah I actually caught the Colbert reference to be quite honest & I meant to indicate that it was used sarcastically by Colbert.
Slick – If they want to, people can fantasize that any long rodlike item is a phallic symbol. While some can be seen as accurate, and like the article says the guitar can be interpreted as one of those items, it’s pure reaching in most cases.
Anybody know where we can get footage of him performing? Would love to see it again….
