It’s So Hard…

RealTalk has an interesting writeup in response to this article entitled “The Inequality Of Black History Month.”
And this joint, “Mayhem Main Event at NBA All-Star Weekend,” sort’ve made me shake my head & laugh it off.
I’ve never been to an actual game, but I did hit ASG Weekend in ATL a few years ago. Even @ the home of Freaknik, I don’t recall any of that type of stuff happening. But when you mix alot of money (which is what you’d had to have to hit VEGAS on ASG Weekend), gambling, egos, legal prostitution, free alcohol, and plenty of other stuff, what would you expect in Vegas, which is constantly advertised as an adult playground. A friend of mine works for the LVPD and he said they have @ least one murder every two days or so.
ASG weekend, guess how many were reported?
None
Two shooting incidents were reported though. But that would be the equivalent of any weekend for major urban area I’d guess.
SMH @ trying to make something out of nothing.
Anyways, dude must’ve been staying @ Circus Circus or somewhere low-end if he was surrounded by all that riff-raff because Vegas is a large enough place where you can party how you want to party and with who you want to party with.

does anyone use evidence eraser? does it work, or has anyone heard anyting about it?
gotty, a homeboy of mine went and he said that it was pretty bad…
I’ve never been to Mardi Gras but can it compare? That’s what I keep thinking because you see video and news reports of lots of foolishness & what I assume is alot of the cops turning their heads to some shit.
And are we saying “bad” in terms of “lewd behavior” or because of violence and such?
bad as in lewd and a bunch of scuffles. he took his girl with him, and for some reason guys don’t know how to act sometimes so they were trying to grab on her.
i guess you could compare it to kappa…
wow…it sounds like there was more action goin on outside than in the game. the game was bland…the competitions were whack. (dwight howard shoulda won btw.)
i had people tell me that going to Vegas brings out some sort of rush and adrenaline outa you, so as a result you tend to behave differently.
whatever.
When you all get a chance watch the PBS special Hip Hop – Beyond Beats and Rhymes by Byron Hurt. When it shows in ya city..played here in the ‘H’ last nite. Nice documentary. http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/hiphop/
^ Word, we’ve been mentioning that show & Chris actually did a writeup on it last week. Hopefully more than a few people caught it last nite
Dude, that picture is the funniest fucken thing I’ve seen all week. Thanks for making my morning…….
Missed in the “H”… Won’t come on for at least another 2 weeks.
Yo Stephen where you @ in the ‘H’???
I’m from Vegas and I call tell you that any big weekend in Vegas is going to have that usual trouble, the stuff described in that article can happen any day in Vegas or any other big city. New Years on the strip is the most insane thing ever, I think LVPD can handle all star weekend.
Adriana Evans = :)
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh…..
Evidence eraser??? LMAO…Somebody was lookin’ at some shit that they had NO BUSINESS LOOKIN’ @…LMAO
While reading homeboy’s article about ASG in Vegas, I was continuously shaking my head. That article was straight ignorant and I was embarassed that he was trying so damn hard.
And got the nerve to call himself “The Last Honest Man” or some crap?
Negro please! Wiggedy Wack!
That Adriana Evans album is FIRE. She’s so slept on–when her first album came out (I’m still looking for that one), it was overshadowed by Erykah Badu’s debut album. Erykah had better marketing and a more distinctive schtick. Now, Adriana’s album is making no noise whatsoever, which is a shame. It was the best R&B album to drop in ‘05, in my opinion.
Part of the problem is that she’s not a great performer. I saw her at the 9:30 club in DC as part of a Black Lily-esque line up, and she phoned it in. But a phenomenal studio artist, regardless. Her husband/producer is Dread Scott (from “Breakin’ Combs” fame).
@KEYNOTE
This second album is nice, but I wouldn’t say the best to drop in ‘05. Adriana is much better at doing soul/jazz sounds… she went on sabatical to some foreigh spots and changed up what was a good formula to me.
But anyway, I got that first joint if you want it. I can just post a link here.
BTW, Adriana has a new one dropping in about two weeks… “El Camino.”
