the west coast cats rip it, everyone of their verses are good. i jusr heard a new mixalot song on the radio the other day and it was pretty good too…

glad to see raheim from furious 5 on this one too, raheim is the most underrated mc i can think of. i wish he had more verses all these years

Of course their careers aren’t getting revived, who cares? This is a great thing for Nas to do, and I’m sure he just wanted to show the world what something like this would sound like, and did it very well. The songs are sick, and all the people probably just got on it to relive the good days for a few bars, I’m sure after they spit their verses, they went back to their normal life or smoked a blunt with some heads they haven’t seen for damn near two decades. I don’t think they have any intention of showing up at Jay-Z’s desk in the morning asking for a deal,

SMH at people on the internet worrying about other peoples careers. All the broke rappers y’all hate on still got more paper than you.

The west coast remix is the best. Nas did a great thing.

Yeah, but a lot of these folks have moved on from trying to rock mics to other phases of their life. Notice that MCs from these eras who are still active (e.g., Big Daddy Kane) weren’t bothering with this. It’s a nice tribute, and Nas’s name will get some spins that individual singles from the old school greats wouldn’t get.

Now, the West Coast track was slippin’. For one, they added a new track, but it didn’t really sound like classic g-funk, so why bother? Not to mention that they didn’t bother adding subtle samples of the hits of each artist during their respective verses. Then, the line up of MCs was pretty hit or miss. I liked hearing from Breeze (from Michigan) and Mix-A-Lot, but why the Conscious Daughters? What happened to MC Eiht/CPW and Yo-Yo? And who thinks of Candyman when you’re thinking about the West Coast?

Anyway, a good effort, but not as dope as the first two tracks.
