WTF kind of assinine bullshit is this. That news story didnt evenpoint out the what bootlegs are, what about the dj drama mixtapes that contain material he was authorized to use? and wtf did they need to raid him for?

How you gonna stop a mixtape! HOW you gonna try now in 2007 during this new ipod generation all its gonna do is force everything to go digital. This is nothing but an excuse for a bunch of fucking flunkies to get a paycheck i mean please these people donteven understandwtf a bootlegis ..mixtapes THAT PROMOTE a certain artist they are tools to get you to buy the album which has the full length um mixed version man whats next

Just watched the second news story…These reporters are some JACKASSES…and the HERB as RIAA dude is an idiot as well..

Now I been into Mixtapes since they started, and I never been to Atlanta to get them…WTF are these guys thinking?

That’s some straight bullshit.
But it’s also not the first time shit’s gone down like that..I believe that Tape Kings and Hip Hop Connection both had similar issues in the late 90′s….
I guess it’s one of those Grey Areas for the music biz….

RIAA has been after mixtapes for a while now. I’m pissed about it but the riaa is a business and its trying to protect their money. I agree that they suck and hopefully one day will see the error of their money hungry ways.

The discs are counterfeit cus they dont ahve consent from the label really. When artists sign deals they sign to taht label. Its not like a label is gonna let them go drop verses on another tape without them seein any money. People might be saying fuck authorities and all but the rapper signed the contract so he is and DJ Drama is in fault. I think its bullshit too but nothing you can do about it really. Work with Indie artists I guess.

I don’t get it aren’t bootlegs cd’s or movies sold without the artist consent. The last time I checked Gangsta Grillz mixtapes(I own 26 of them)were made with the artist and it cost you just to make a mixtape with DJ Drama and the rest of the affiliates. How are these cd’s counterfeit?

^they not tryin to catch a case. word is that an insider snitched. record lables arent happy about their artist doing mixtapes for little to nothing, and the dj getting the big check. they want in. if mixtapes weren’t making any money they wouldnt give 2 fucks. just so happens in this case that they realized dj drama and co. are a big name now and their pushing 645′s…
